Spring is the best time for cobblers and Barnie’s Coffee Peach Cobbler Recipe comes from a family recipe that we just had to share. It’s one of our favorites growing up. The best part about it is that it literally takes only 5 minutes to whip together.
Barnie's Peach Cobbler Recipe was inspired by our newest Limited Time Offering of the Barnie's Peach Cobbler Flavored Coffee. We tried this recipe using a quart jar or can of homemade peaches, but you can also use fresh peaches as desired.
Especially those of us living here in Florida, it’s the perfect time to visit our local You Pick ‘Em Farms, too, and it's Peach Season! There’s local places in Central Florida where you can go pick the fresh fruit yourself.
Here’s a list of just a few we’ve been and love: Amber Brooke Farms in Eustis, Deer Park Peaches & Oranges in St Cloud, and Southern Hills Farm in the Mount Dora area.
Ingredients and Prep:
• 9x13 glass baking sheet or disposable baking sheet
• 5 peaches (Peeled, cored and sliced (can of peaches of about 4 cups))
• 6 tablespoons butter
• 1 cup all-purpose flour (add biscuit mix as desired)
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• ¾ cup milk
• ground cinnamon
Instructions:
-
Add your freshly sliced peaches, ¾ cup sugar and ¼ teaspoon salt to a saucepan and stir to combine. If you’re using canned peaches like us, skip those steps completely and just add the can directly to the pot.
-
Cook on medium heat for just a few minutes, until the sugar is dissolved and helps to bring out juices from the peaches. Remove from heat and set aside.
-
Preheat the oven to 350 Degrees F. Slice butter into pieces and add it to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place the pan in the oven while it preheats, to allow the butter to melt. Once melted, remove the pan from the oven.
-
In a large bowl mix together the flour (if desired a little biscuit mix, too), sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, just until combined. Pour the mixture into the pan, over the melted butter and smooth it into an even layer.
-
Spoon the peaches and juice (or canned peaches, if using) over the batter. Sprinkle cinnamon generously over the top.
-
Bake at 350 degrees for about 38-40 minutes. Serve warm, with a scoop of Publix Vanilla Ice Cream, if your tastebuds so desire. #yesplease
